Pit Bulls are among the most abused dogs, often used in cruel illegal dog fighting operations. One of the consequences of this cruelty is that these dogs are left with a very bad reputation, and are consequently classed as dangerous based on their looks only – a stigma that kills thousands of innocent pets in the UK alone, and that seems hard to die.

Kitbull, directed Rosana Sullivan and produced by Kathryn Hendrickson, focuses on the unlikely friendship between an abused Pit Bull and a stray kitten. In only eight minutes, without a single word, the short shows how misleading prejudice can be and places the blame squarely where it belongs: on abusive owners.
