London-based animal welfare charity, Mayhew, is holding a month of fundraising in May to continue their life-saving work to help abandoned, neglected and vulnerable animals, as well as owners in need, both in the UK and overseas.
Mayhew’s CEO, Caroline Yates, said, “The work we do just wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our supporters who choose to help us in whichever way they can. We can’t wait to see the different ways our supporters will be fundraising for us this month!
“All the money raised from Month of Mayhew will go towards us helping more dogs and cats escape a life of cruelty, neglect and abandonment in the UK and overseas.”
You can request your free fundraising pack – including tips and ideas, banners, flags, balloons and a collection box – and register your event here. You can also share your success on social channels if you use the hashtag #MonthOfMayhew. You can choose your own way to fundraise throughout Month of Mayhew; after all, you should also have fun.
Here are some of Mayhew’s suggestions for fundraising activities
- Bring your dog to work day
- Take part in a challenge event such as a marathon, cycle, abseil or even a bungee jump
- Animal-themed dress up day at school or work
- Hold a bake sale
- Host a dinner party dressed all in purple
- Organise a pub quiz
You can also support Mayhew at their annual Open Day on Sunday 13 May. Join the street party and enjoy a unique look behind the scenes where guests will be able to visit the cattery, tour the veterinary clinic and meet some of Mayhew’s TheraPaws dogs.
