Camel

Camel (main image) has sadly come back into our care due to his owner’s health.

Camel, 8 year old, male Crossbreed
Can live with children aged 10 +
No cats
No dogs
Leicester

We are urging people to consider Camel as their new companion as he brings so much joy to everyone he meets. He is a gentle giant who loves nothing more than cuddles on the sofa (you just have to squeeze over a little). Since arriving with us, Camel has struggled with kennel life and constantly looks lost and lonely.

We have dedicated so much time to his needs and found he loves sunbathing, being in the paddling pool and eating. Camel would be quite happy with garden exercise providing his new home has enough time and enrichment, as well as plenty of love. He has requested his new owner to have a huge heart like him and introduce him to new doggy friends when out on walks.

Sara

Sara, 4 year old, female, Lurcher
Can live with older teenagers (16+)
Can live with dogs
No to cats
Leicester

Cheeky lady Sara is one of a kind and such a loveable soul. An inquisitive girl, she loves being nosey, planning new adventures and having lots of cuddles. A fond lover of food and toys, she is easily pleased.

Sara is a clever girl who is amazing at free work, sticking her head in bushes and exploring off lead in a secure area. Having some form of hound in her, Sara has a very high prey drive but does walk lovely on the lead. She is working on her house training and travels well and can’t wait for her first family holiday.

Biggy

Biggy, 6 year old, male, German Shepherd
Can live with teenagers
No dogs
No cats
Leicester

A bundle of fur is the best way to describe Biggy. Full of fuss and love, he is a big teddy bear. He enjoys chasing his toys and generally enjoying life to the max. Very food motivated, Biggie loves his interactive toys.

Being a large sized dog, Biggie is strong on lead and not comfortable around other dogs. He will need a sturdy walker and enjoy walks where he can have a longer lead. His prey drive is very high and he would be great at scent work or anything where he can use his brain and involves food.

Nile

Nile, 3–4 year old Crossbreed (Cane Corso cross Presa Canario)
Can live with older teenagers
Must live with another dog
No cats or small animals
Leicester

Meet Nile, a sweet but shy boy who has stolen our hearts. Nile can find new things overwhelming and prefer a calmer approach to life, taking things step by step. There is a cheeky side in there when he feels at ease and we hope this will emerge once home and settled.

He loves his food, toys and sofa and cuddles from his kennel mum. Nile gets a lot of his confidence from being around other dogs and must have a doggy companion in his new home who he can snuggle up to. He is a very clever boy who loves to explore and use his nose, with scent work being a favourite of his.

Nile will be requiring garden only exercise initially due to his confidence and settling into a new home. This may take a lot longer for him, so they must be flexible with their leave time.

The Centre will be offering to support Nile’s new owners by covering health care and vaccinations under our Vet Support Scheme.*

*Please note that any vet consultations or treatment will be at our Centre in Huncote or at one of our designated vet practices in Leicestershire.
