The RSPCA has launched an appeal for information after the body of a severely emaciated dog was found dumped in a remote area of Dorset.
The three-year-old Pocket Bully, named Storm, was discovered by a member of the public on 26 September between Dorchester and Weymouth. She had been wrapped in a silver curtain and was wearing a purple collar. The person who found her took the body to a vet, who contacted the RSPCA due to concerns over her condition.
Inspector Tina Ward, who is leading the investigation, said, “The vets called us because, despite decomposition, she was in very poor condition and was emaciated before her death. She was found in a remote area between Dorchester and Weymouth. She was wrapped in a silver curtain and wearing a purple collar. The what3words for the location are become.nuance.impulsive.”

The dog was microchipped, and investigators have spoken to the registered owner, who had rehomed her. “She was chipped and we have spoken with the person registered as the original owner, who has also shared with us pictures showing how she looked when she was alive in the hope someone will recognise her,” Ward said.
The RSPCA believes Storm may have been in the Southampton, Winchester, Dorchester or Weymouth areas before her death. The charity has released photographs of her in an effort to trace whoever is responsible.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the RSPCA appeals line on 0300 123 8018, quoting incident number 01643845.
