The RSPCA is appealing for witnesses after this male brindle lurcher was found badly beaten on the side of a road in Rudry Road, Rudry, Caerphilly on Tuesday evening (16 September). A member of the public, who notified the RSPCA, said a woman riding a horse said she saw two men beating the dog before running off.
RSPCA inspector Holly Brown says: “The poor thing was found by a member of public in a collapsed state with an injured head. The dog was disorientated and lethargic. We urge anyone who has any information about this incident to get in touch, especially the woman on the horse who saw what happened.
“The dog has been taken to a vet in Newport but is not doing well at all. They suspect he has neurological damage.”
Anyone who may have information about this incident should contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018. Calls are treated in confidence.
