Dog trainers, walkers, groomers and canine health professionals came together in Bishopstone to celebrate the opening of Potter Paws’ new site.
The gathering brought together businesses that share a commitment to putting dogs’ welfare at the heart of their work. For Potter Paws director and head trainer Debbie Potter, seeing so many familiar faces in one place suggested the start of something bigger.
“It feels like we’re starting a movement here in Bucks,” Debbie said. “It was lovely to look around and see so many like-minded faces, all putting animal welfare above everything else in their work. When people who care this deeply come together, we can make a real difference to dogs and the people who love them.”
Founded in 2015 by Debbie and Sam Potter, Potter Paws offers family dog training using reward-based methods. Its services include group classes, one-to-one training, online learning and courses in canine first aid and body language for pet professionals. The business says its aim is to help dogs and owners build skills throughout their lives together.
The new site boasts multiple training spaces both indoor and outdoor, and an inviting shop which stocks brands including Pet Remedy. And for Mucky Pups there is even a high tech dog washing station, to help them feel fresh after a fun session on the fields.
Among those at the opening were McTimoney chiropractor Charlotte Perry, Debbie Gross of Bee Positive, Emma Ludlow of Willow & Fern Dog Co, Katy Martin of McGrumpy & Snuffles, Lynn Patton of Bucks Canine Myotherapy and Richard Edwards of MediPulse Training.
Toni Coad and Sarah Shackleton of Barkology joined Ross Cowling of Adventure Walks, Jordan and Lydia of Absolutely Barking, Liz Williams of Team Strong Wills, Maisie Dyer of Lead & Learn, Paul Barrow of Woofers & Wellies and Carly of Clips Dog Grooming.
Chris and Ruth of ShutterDog Photography were also there, alongside Tina Duggan of BoB Networking, Kate Holt of DE Bookkeeping and Potter Paws team members Sam, Tash and Phoebe.
