Buffy – 2-Year-Old Female, Pug Cross
Lives with adults
No cats
Can possibly live with a larger neutered male dog
Location: Leicester
Buffy (main image) takes time becoming friends but is very loving once she comes out of her shell. She is full of energy and loves playing with her toys and having cuddles on the sofa. Buffy bonds very quickly to her favourite human and is very loyal.
Buffy has lived a very sheltered life within a home and has never experienced a garden to call her own. She will need slow introductions to walking, travelling, and toilet training. Her owner must be patient and flexible, continuing to open her world at a steady pace and introducing her to new people, dogs, and being left on her own.
Buffy is spayed and up to date with her vaccinations, worm, and flea treatments. She is currently on calming and anxiety medication to help her within kennels and will need to continue this while settling into her new home.

Mike – 2-Year-Old Male, Cavapoo

Lives with adults
No cats
Can live with a neutered dog
Location: Leicester
Mike is a worrywart, and even though he wants to be loved, he struggles with his emotions and is a very sensitive boy. He loves to sit and watch the world with his giant teddy by his side and has started to seek love from his kennel mum.
Mike is hoping to find a new home and an owner who will help him thrive—introducing him to travelling, new sounds, and new places. Although garden exercise is what he prefers at the moment, with time and patience, Mike’s confidence may grow over time. Sadly, Mike is not comfortable around the vet or being handled, which a new owner must understand and respect. He is not a lap dog and struggles with change, social situations, and pressure. He is making progress with his house training, but a new owner must be patient and allow Mike to grow at his own pace.
Mike will need a local home in Leicestershire, as he does not like travelling.
Mike is still entire due to his confidence, and he is up to date with his vaccinations, worm, and flea treatments. He is currently on calming and anxiety medication to help him within kennels and will need to continue this while settling into his new home. He will need to be sedated when groomed and when having his nails clipped. The staff are working with him on this.

Brenda – 10-Year-Old Female, Lurcher

Lives with teenagers
No cats
Could possibly live with a dog
Location: Leicester
Retired Brenda loves her cuddles, cosy bed, and exploring new areas. A little shy at first, she soon becomes a snuggle monster who comes alive when she has a spurt of energy. She loves her playtime and enjoys her food.
Brenda may have worked earlier in life and will need to stay on a lead and be muzzled due to her high prey drive. She is a lovely walker and is nearly there with her house training, but any new owner must be aware that Brenda may not have lived in a home before and would love someone who can be around for most of the day. Brenda walks beautifully on the lead but prefers a rural setting away from traffic.
Brenda is not yet spayed and is up to date with her vaccinations, worm, and flea treatments. Her high water intake is currently being monitored, which may be due to her age.
You can find Brenda’s profile here.
