Together through it all

Named for the beloved Gogglebox TV stars, crossbreed couple Leon and June have shared their whole lives with each other and are totally inseparable. The elderly pair came into the care of Rain Rescue recently in a pretty bad way, but are now on the mend and looking for their forever sofa together.

Lauren Sanderson, Deputy Charity Manager, says "Leon and June were found as strays, abandoned on the streets. How anyone could turn their back on these two sweethearts I will never understand.

"It was clear when they arrived that June in particular was unable to eat properly and so we took her straight to the vet. As the vet opened her mouth, two teeth fell out of her mouth onto the table! They were so rotten from years of neglect. Leon and June are now recovering from their stressful ordeal here in our kennels but a rescue centre is no place for two seniors. They should be curled up fireside, enjoying the relaxation of their twilight years. We are appealing to find them a home together. We ask anyone who thinks they can give Leon and June a happy retirement to get in touch."
